John Partridge

Dr. Partridge is the director of the medical pharmacology course which is taught to first and second year medical students at the Georgetown University School of Medicine. Through the lens of cura personalis, this course introduces the medical students to the concepts of pharmaco-therapeutics: the use of drugs in the treatment, prevention, and diagnosis of disease. Also covered in this course is toxicology: the study of the adverse effects of drugs administered in a clinical setting. Dr. Partridge also serves as the director of the MS Pharmacology program. He recruits, matriculates, and introduces students to the joys and rigors of the one-year, non-thesis Master’s degree. Additionally, Dr. Partridge also serves on several planning committees that serve to guide the future of the School of Medicine. While no longer working in the wet laboratory environment full-time, Dr. Partridge’s quest for new knowledge leads him to regularly attend weekly department seminars. He also finds joy spending time with his children who are active in team sports, photographing the natural world, hiking, tennis, and sport.
