About: Prior to joing the PhD program at Georgtown, Abdullah worked at Qassim University-Saudi Arabia- as a teaching and research assistant in the Department of Pharmacology and Toxicology. He obtained his Master’s degree from the University of Rhode Island, where his thesis investigated the potential benefits/ repurposing of Tolfenamic Acid, a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug, for Alzheimer’s disease, by the use of in vitro and in vivo models emphasizing potential effects on protein TAU pathology. Currently, he is rotating in Dr. Rebeck’s lab where his project involves studying the effect of aging and APOE genotype in the hemostatic microglial function in the APOE preclinical mouse model.
