The Karen Gale Memorial Lectureship for Outstanding Women in Neuroscience

Named for Dr. Karen Gale, a faculty member in the Department of Pharmacology & Physiology for 25 years, in recognition of her advocacy and passion for the advancement of women in science.

The Stephen and Mary Krop Lectureship in Pharmacology

Named for Dr. Stephen Krop who studied Pharmacology at Georgetown prior to earning his doctorate at Cornell, and went on to become Chief of the Drug Pharmacology Branch of the FDA.

The Theodore Koppanyi Lectureship in Pharmacology

Named for Dr. Theodore Koppanyi, Chairman of Pharmacology from 1932 to 1967. This lecture was founded in1981 to honor his legacy of teaching and research at Georgetown.

The Frank G. Standaert Lectureship in Pharmacology

Named for Dr. Frank Standaert, who succeeded Dr. Theodore Koppanyi as chair of the department in 1967. He served as chair until 1986, and significantly expanded the faculty of the department.
