Liqiang Chen

Chen Liqiang received his Ph.D. in Neuroscience from Fudan University, Shanghai, China, in June 2019. Following his graduation, he joined Professor Hong-Yuan Chu’s laboratory as a postdoctoral researcher in September of the same year. Dr. Chen’s research primarily focuses on elucidating the pathogenic mechanisms of Parkinson’s disease. His work aims to understand how the loss of dopamine and/or the presence of protein aggregates impact the normal function of brain circuits, leading to various motor and non-motor deficits observed in parkinsonism. Through his investigations, Dr. Chen seeks to uncover the underlying neural mechanisms that contribute to the development and progression of Parkinson’s disease. His research has the potential to provide valuable insights into the disorder’s pathophysiology, potentially paving the way for novel therapeutic approaches in the future.
