Faculty & Research - Primary Appointments in
Pharmacology
Seventeen faculty, representing a number of research areas, have primary
appointments in the Department of Pharmacology. All of these
faculty participate in graduate student training, and 11 are eligible as
Ph.D. Thesis Mentors. In addition, twelve faculty with primary
appointments in other departments are eligible as Ph.D. Thesis Mentors.

Ph.D. thesis mentors.
The major strengths of the department are Neuropharmacology and
Cardiovascular Pharmacology. In their research, faculty at Georgetown
use physiological, biochemical, and molecular approaches to pharmacology,
which is conducted in cultured cells, isolated organs, intact animals, and man.
